Sixers seek Palestra for open practice

Although nothing is official yet, the Sixers have requested usage of the Palestra Sunday night 6-8 pm for a practice open to fans. The team has a preseason game Friday in D.C., and another Tuesday, Dec. 20 at the Wells Fargo Center, the only two preseason games before they open the regular season Dec. 26 in Portland.

Let you know when the open practice is official.

Thad Young, Sixers Come To Terms

The 76ers and forward Thad Young have agreed to a contract that will take the restricted free agent off the market. Details are sketchy, but I'm hearing it's a four-year deal with a fifth-year option that will pay him $34 million for certain and about $43 million if the option is accepted.

Young was one of the more attractive restricted free agents out there, but the 23-year-old thrived under coach Doug Collins in his fourth season, finishing third in the NBA Sixth Man Award voting. He confirmed the agreement on Twitter and should be ready for the Sixers' first two-a-day practice session Saturday.
